We’d all like to significantly reduce our energy bills and do our bit for the environment whenever we can. Fortunately, the Government has introduced several funding incentives to help us embrace and implement renewable energy solutions.
Funding incentives which enable us to benefit from affordable green technology include the Feed In Tariff, the Green Deal and the Renewable Heat Incentive.
Feed In Tariff (FIT)
The Feed In Tariff scheme enables the affordable installation of solar panels and provides financial rewards for making the right environmental choice.
Benefits of this Government incentive include, making money from the renewable energy you generate with solar panels, the option to sell surplus energy back to the grid and instant reductions to your energy bills.
You can find full details of the Feed In Tariff here.
The Green Deal scheme enables you to make modifications to your building to ensure it’s more energy-efficient and cut your energy bills.
Benefits of this Government incentive include, funding to implement renewable green technologies such as solar panels, air source and ground heat pumps and biomass, as well as energy-saving solutions including heating, draft proofing, double glazing and insulation.

Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)
The Renewable Heat scheme enables participants with domestic and non-domestic properties to utilise green technology and reap the financial rewards over a seven year period.
Benefits of this Government incentive include, making money from the renewable energy you generate using green technology solutions such as, air source and ground heat pumps, solar thermal panels [link to solar Panels page], Biomass-only boilers and biomass pellet stoves with integrated boilers, as well as reducing your energy bills.
