Bryan Granger hadn’t considered solar panels for his home until he discovered the benefits and savings he could achieve. Now he’s  enjoying cheaper energy bills and a good return on his investment, whilst helping the environment.

“My daughter and her partner had them and we were impressed with how it was done. Also a friend mentioned the savings on main bills, as well as the return on investment. I hadn’t considered solar panels until I’d discussed the benefits with them, but thought why not?”

Bryan’s daughter recommended Cheltenham-based Forever Green Energy who’d installed their solar panels and the rest is history. Bryan had 16 solar panels installed on the roof of his house.

“The price was very fair and once I gave instruction to Forever Green Energy they stuck to their word re. delivery and installation. They’re a very competent and honest company.”

Bryan was equally impressed with the installation process, “The installers were really, really nice – having worked in the building industry, I know that’s not always the case.”

“When the installation team had to come inside the house to access the roof space, they removed their shoes and I thought that was really nice. The electrician had to work around extra roof insulation that I’d recently had put in and took great care.”

Since his solar panel installation 11 months ago, Bryan has made considerable savings on his energy bills, “I received my first payment through the Feed-In Tariff in March 2015, three months after the installation. I was extremely pleased with £100 for the winter period. In June I received almost £250 and in September, £215.”

As for recommending solar panels to anyone considering them, Bryan says, “Initially it’s an expense that you’ve got to be able to afford, but you do get a return on your investment. It may take a few years to recoup, but you do get cheaper electricity and you’ll be helping the environment in the process.”
