Living out in the countryside, and being reliant on oil, George Andrews wanted reduce the running costs of his home. His focus was to stop using oil to heat his water.

Installing a Thermodynamic Heating System has enabled George to reduce his overall oil use considerably. 100% of his hot water is now being produced by thermodynamics.

Why did you consider Thermodynamic Heating?

We're currently on oil, so wanted to achieve a number of things. Firstly I wanted to reduce the running costs of my property and the hot water seemed a simple area to improve. I considered solar thermal, but this only does part of your hot water depending on the weather which seems very unsatisfactory.

The Bunsen Air generates 100% of my hot water, so I have switched my oil off for heating my hot water. My oil usage has dropped considerably as I only need the boiler on for heating the house. In warmer weather I have nothing running, maybe light the fire in the evening. I'm not running my boiler at all, so I also don’t need to get it serviced as often which is a significant cost saving.

What did you think of the cost? Too much, just the right price?

I was completely happy with the cost. I have improved my property value, and reduced my fuel bills immediately, as well as protecting against the constant price increases. I cannot tell you what the payback will be yet, but I am saving money already. I actually have a small solar system, so daytime water heating (which I have prioritised using the controller) is basically free anyway.

How was the install process?

On the day of the installation I was not home, but I was there for the survey. The install was done in a day, and we had already discussed the location of the panels and the location of the Bunsen Air controller.

Everything was fitted as discussed, and my wife – who was there on the day of installation was highly impressed with the friendly and respectful nature of the installers. She was also given full explanation of the installation and the controls. We feel very comfortable with the system and how it works.

Now that you have Thermodynamic Heating how do you feel about the result and would you recommend Forever Green Energy?

I'm completely happy to recommend the system to anybody – and in fact I do! Also delighted on a personal level that this simple addition to my existing hot water cylinder has added renewable hot water to my home.
