Mud, sweat and tears for Cheltenham runners

Over 4,000 competitors will test their metal during Cheltenham’s Devil Mud Run on 26th and 27th September. The weekend event, partnered by Winston’s Wish and The Pied Piper Appeal, aims to raise much needed money for charity.
With the tagline: Mud, sweat and tears! Angels need not apply; those taking part in the Devil Mud Run know they will be tested to their limits and then some. A punishing 8 kilometre course filled with 31 challenging natural and man-made obstacles, including the aptly named Satan’s Steps, the Ice Dip, the Slippery Slope, Swamp Thing, Hale Bale Mountain and the Giant Wall, awaits the competitors.
Testing both physical and mental agility, the course makes the most of its beautiful setting with the Cotswold Hills taking centre stage. Combining rugged terrain, dense woods, inclines and dips with lashings of mud, competitors will need plenty of stamina and determination to complete this formidable course.
Positioned as an event for both serious contenders and fun runners, this great community event offers plenty of challenges as well as a fun day out for supporters.
Familiar with battling the elements and overcoming the challenges they pose, Cheltenham-based renewable energy supplier, Forever Green Energy, is proudly sponsoring the Devil Mud Run.
Founder and director, Ben Williams, said, “As a local renewable energy installer, we’re used to overcoming obstacles in the outdoor environment on a daily basis. Whether we’re up a ladder installing solar panels or crawling on all fours installing heat pumps, come rain or shine, we get the job done.
